I have cleaned my carbs, and just received my new jets and floats, but the kit came with multiple jets but none of the sizes match the original. Example my main jet is a 107 but the closes size i have is a 112, and the pilot jet is a 36.5 and i have a is a 40. Will this effect it to much or can i make adjustments to make these work?

The kits off of eBay are for various bikes , whe I had my 82 Virago ordered the K&L kit came with 122 main , was correct for 86 and up but turns out 82 used a 132 front and 127 rear cylinder had found this little blurb in manual . With the 122 back cylinder glowed orange so pint of my story is look in the manual it should list the proper jet size. You could also check jets r us they should have list of jets . Or check xj4ever on upper right side of page will have the correct jets sizes. If this is first time opening carbs don't always rely on the jets being correct size especially if carbs have pods or an aftermarket exhaust installed by the previous owner.

    Hi
    I've just brought a 1981 Yamaha xj seca ....750.
The fuel smells like its been in there for about 10 years.
Anyway ive taken the carbs off to give them a well earned clean.
Ive tried to find a carb rebuild kit with no success. (Mikuni carbs) can anybody help? Cheers

XJ750 models should be equipped with Hitachi carbs (not Mikuni carbs). Are you sure that this bike has Mikuni carbs? The Hitachi and Mikuni series carbs used on this era of bikes look very similar to each other.

We do have the proper rebuild kits for the Hitachi carbs.

Both of those jets are too large for the 700 engine, especially that #122 main fuel jet. Other parts in those "full rebuild kits" may also be incorrect for the air-cooled XJ700 model carbs, which are HSC33 series (not the smaller HSC32 series used on most XJ550 and XJ750 models). And we od have the correct #107 and #36.5 fuel jets available.

    Yep 100% Mikuni carbs.
So you reckon these are the wrong carbs for this bike?

If they are Mikuni's, then they are not the correct carbs for that bike.

Hard to say, Mikuni's were used on a lot of different bikes for a lot of different years (and not just on Yamaha bikes, either).

You can post a WANTED ad in the proper section of this website, or look on eBay, etc. Any Hitachi carbs form 1981-83 XJ750 Maxim or XJ750 Seca models will work.
