s7) Aftermarket ALTERNATOR BRUSHES WITH HOLDERS SET, matched pair of brushes with the metal holders and lead wires. NOTE: Alternator brushes should be replaced whenever they are less than 11mm in overall length......the factory maintenance interval indicates that you should expect to replace these brushes every 8-10,000 miles. Factory brushes have "wear marks" (scribed lines) on the brush to indicate their wear limit; these aftermarket brushes also have the scribed wear line. Overall length of these brushes are 17.10mm, with 9mm of length from the wear bars to the contact end of the brushes:

You tried it? X-ring in first and then o-ring? No problem with fit?

two o-rings (#11) work but their tight and the throttle needs worked a few dozen times to loosen it up. the outside clip on 4+1 was hard to get on
a x-ring and a o-ring work just right, snug but the throttle snaps right back. clip goes right on. don't remember who went in first, don't think it matters
never tried two x-rings, i had too many o-rings not to use some of them.
no petroleum lube, no spray can silicone lube, it might swell the Buna rubber. silicone paste type grease only.
mine have worked for many years

Thanks for that. Have any idea what size o-rings are needed for the fuel rails/tubes?

i used a o-ring that fit the tube and almost fit the carb and mashed it in, it trimmed itself a little bit going in :)

with what you saved using the o and x buy the correct part for fuel tubes from xj4ever. do you really want to hope you found something that works or just get what you know will work?

Well, replaced the throttle rod o-rings (1 #11 x-ring and 1 #10 o-ring together on each side) and fuel tubes o-rings (#10), assembled the carbs, did a bench sync. Today I installed them on the bike and it basically fired right up, no choke. Problem was that it would rev up to 4500 - 5000 rpms before I would shut it off. After a lot of searching I found the inside edge of the left airbox boot was not all the way on the carb. Hard to notice it. Fixed the problem and now it starts right up and idles @1200 - 1500. It will probably sit till early spring when I will check valve clearances, adjust mixtures and balance the carbs. I did notice that the prime setting on the tank petcock does not release gas. Had to run a long vacuum line to the tank while it was off the bike.
Thanks for all the help and advice. It was indispensable.

Not to hijack this thread but...
I have the same 10K/5K issue with my plug caps. The 1-4 coil reads correct resistance across them but my 2-3 coil doesn’t read squat.
I can get it to rev on starter fluid but then dies right away.
I’ll also be pulling my carbs to check the enrichment jet and floats again.

Yeah, I ended up using two standard plugs and two resistor plugs. Appears to work ok. Even though I still need to check valve shims, re-adjust fuel mixture and then re-synchronize the carbs, it seems to run like a top right now.
