Found out mine is shedding thick rust. Just looking for one that has not been "Lined" or messed with that looks half way decent on the inside.

I've got a nice looking 82 Seca tank (undented, original paint), if you're still in the market. I don't actually know what the inside is like, as it's got a locked cap on it with no key (though I do have another cap with a working key!) - if you're still interested, let me know.

Thanks, I was pretty frustrated then, but for the time being I guess I will muddle through with the one I have and see how often I'm swapping all the filters / screens to keep her going.
I'll probably get frustrated enough at some future point to swap it out, but she's running well again now so I might as well ride at least until the snow starts flying, and then maybe figure out a way to clean out the tank I've got over the winter...

Acid from Lowe’s or HD. I used it on a 51 Buick tank, let it sit 2 days inside of tank looks new . Naturally wear eye and face protection and gloves but this stuff works great.

Make sure you immediately get oil or gas or something on the metal. HCl does NOT leave a protective coating, and bare metal will flash rust

I'd fog it with wd40 afterwards. It'll pull water out of the corners, and ensure you get a good coating of oil around the inside of the tank.

I filled it to the top with gas since I’m getting ready to fire up this Buick which has been sitting in a central Oregon storage facility since the70s. I was surprised that it worked so well never having used acid before so I filtered it and put it in a spare 5 gallon plastic fuel jug for future use. I’m sure something else will come up.

This Tuesday the 13th I’m picking up another gray 82 Seca 750. If I don’t decide to rehab it I’ll part it. Never parted this model so I’ll have to see what the interest is. All I know right now is it’s all stock, lower miles, missing airbox but all else there.

Sounds like you're doing a whole lot better than you anticipated. You've still been pretty busy and it's only been a couple weeks--

Yes I thought I had reinjured my arms from an incident last year. We had a rental house at that time we were remodeling and I thought I would do the interior tear out. Watching the home shows like “fixer upper” I would see Chip Gaines say “demo day this is gonna be fun”. Well my day lasted two weeks and my shoulders were so bad I couldn’t function. Over the last year they have healed really well but a few weeks ago I slightly strained one and man the pain was back. So a little rest and aspirin and it’s a lot better. I’m keeping the gray barnfind and hopefully picking another identical one tomorrow or next day.The best of the two will be kept and the other parted. Thanks Rich.

I did get another gray 82 Seca 750 that I’m going to part out. It’s got a solid not rusted tank but a couple small dents.
