    Picked up a nice little 550 Seca on Friday. It will be getting low bars and rearsets, but right now I am looking at tires. I am looking at going either with the Pirelli Sport Demon (F: 100/90 - 19 M/C 57V TL / R: 120/80 - 18 M/C 62H TL) or Metzler Sportec Klassik (F: 3.25 - 19 M/C 54V TL / R: 4.00 - 18 M/C 64V TL). What do you think?

Best tire that I found so far for my Maxim X:

I've had others such as Dunlops, Metzlers (not the Klassiks), and Kendas on my bikes before for reference.
The Road Riders are very responsive, yet compliant. Track perfectly on concrete grooved highways at 80+ MPH.

    I'll answer with a question.

What sort of riding will you be doing, and how often?

Spirited (but not "Ricky Racer") riding through the hills and curves of East Tennessee. I'll also be using it for shuttling around to errands, etc. Pretty much, I ride whenever I can.

Kind of-Mostly. Here in East Tennessee, we have a lot of good riding weather all year long. I'll ride in the rain if caught, but I don't plan on traveling in the rain if it can be avoided (more because of my propensity for migraines than anything else).

you won't go wrong with either of your choices there.
Note Perelli's are no longer made in Italy but now from Brazil, still a good tire.

Dunlop 404 - only because they were recommended when I started riding (~8 years ago) and they have served me well, and suit my budget.
