    I was over the issue once it was explained to me and yes I acted like an ass over reacting so can we start over on the right note this time?

    Hello I'm Robert thanks for having me here on yr site! I'm sure I'll meet a lot of good folks here who have experience with the XJ bikes as I have just acquired a 1982 maxim 650 in pretty bad shape and have never worked on one of these and I'm sure there are commen issues many of you can help me with

    AS you make posts, your rank will go up. don't worry.

    When I started on here, it was similar for me....... but there's one (at least) on here that I know has achieved xjWizard status and has only ridden his bike around the block once, then it quit again, and hasn't gotten it started again.

    It's not a perfect system, but it give us all a general idea about a person's xj knowledge.


    Get over being offended by it. It's nothing personal.

    looking back at your other two posts, i see nothing that indicates your superior motorcycle knowledge..........how about them beans !
    a google search for "HARD CORE CONFEDERATES motorcycle" brings up

    You think his reply was blunt, you should take a look at the Caferacer.net forum, they are a close knit group that really tears a new posters ass apart if they post anything other than non whiny, intelligent comments. It's actually funny sometimes to see the way they pile on.
    Oh, by the way...I'm "ranked" at a "Wizard" level but that's based only on my posts, not my knowledge. I know some things and help if I can, but only if I feel confident that my reply is the correct reply.
    I've been licenced for over 40 years, ridden Mini-bikes to a 1200 (current) drove to work and long distance, even raced for a few years, but I respect the knowledge that is available free of charge here.
    2 cents.

    Actually I left Sydney and never returned but that was on a GSX750, bikes gone but I've still got the girl I stopped for.
    However your both right, it would be just plain stupid to miss Tassie on a bike trip and Cape York is one of those things it would be silly to ride past,even on a road bike.
    Lesson learned,be careful when choosing maps at random on google.

    That is sad........I nevert hought that the GSX 750 was so unreliable 8O 8O 8O. Sounds a bit like lost in space for a long time.

    Or not, as the case may be... Any woman wants "in" on my life (however unlikely lol) then it comes bikes 'n all... I managed a little further than round the block, probably a couple of hundred miles before the XJ and I got squashed :lol: As to the person Dave referred to, they fully deserve their "wizard" status by dint of the fact they knuckled down & got on with the many, many jobs those bikes threw up & that's also the reason that the bikes will certainly live again. 8)
