So I was riding and it started raining, I slipped and fell off, I'm fine, but destroyed the clutch lever and left side blinker light. Total no issues, easy fixes, finna fix that with $10 eBay parts. However, loading the bike, onto a trailer, it went around one corner and due to incompetence on my own, due to lack of ratchet strap etiquette, it fell over again. Nothing seamed wrong with it, but come picking it back up at, under a mile away, home there was a small puddle, not a pool, that smelled of petrol. The tank is full comparative to what I put into it, it's been a day since, and nothing seems to be leaking. Still. Full tank, but could something have just come loose and resealed or is there an underlying issue I'm not seeing?

Probably some fuel leaked out of your carburettor overflow pipes when the bike was on its side.

Every XJ I have had does not seal at the filler. Even with new gaskets. So I have to be careful not to overfill on the side stand so that a full tank does not leak when on the center stand. I would bet yours leaked out the fill while on its side.

Just started it again and it didn't want to go, but cranking it on primer and full choke got her started again. I'm glad there isn't a proper leak going on somewhere. Rode around fine, headlights a little of kilter but a hammer will get that inline. Scraped the left front shift light right off, but that's an easy splicing of cables and some super glue to get right. The foot shifter is a little bent, that not an issue right?

After a clutch lever replacement that is, and that's worked a charm
