I am almost done with my XJ700 restoration and for some reason found myself on my local craigslist last night. While there, I found an ad for a pile of parts for $50 which I hope is still available. The ad stated that there is enough parts for two bikes but I didn't see any engines in the pic. I've had so much fun tearing down my XJ that I think I want to build another bike. However, the point of this post is to ask the gurus here about another ad which the seller has a Honda 161cc engine for sale. The ad states that it has an electric start and it does run. The seller is asking $200. Is that a fair price for the market? I did a google search on the 161cc and I got alot of hits for the CB160 and they look pretty cool as a cafe style bike. What are your thoughts? Heres a link to the ad for the 160.

Do you have a bike to put it in? If not then it's not a good price. Not all engines will fit into any frame without a lot of work and money. Given that you have just finished your first project bike I would reccomend that you look for another complete project rather than parts of several projects. "Enough parts for two bikes for $50" sounds to me like "A bunch of junk, some of which might be from the same bike for $50." That's exacly what you will be buying unless you know enough about what you are looking at to tell what the parts are from, and if there really is enough there to make a runner out of.
