Aftermarket Coils from JC Whitney for 1981 xj550 maxim?

    Those look bigger than the stock ones. Might not fit under the tank.

    Did you check with Chacal? He has coils.

    I just replaced the stock coils on my XS1100 with Accel coils. Part # 140403K , purchased from Jegs for 150$. It is not in their catalogue you have to call to order. The kit has coils, wires and mounting hardware. It made a big improvement for my bike.

    Here is a like to Accels catalogue. Part # 140403 and 140403K will fit most bikes

    The kit was a good deal considering it has all the parts needed. I did fab different mounting brackets though.
