While getting myself something to do in these month's of snow and ice, i made an emergency/hazard blinker installation on my bike.

It works but the original blinker relay cannot cope with double the power when all 4's are blinking.
So i got from Ali 2 relays to try with max Wattage of 150W.
    This should be enough.

But, despite correct connection, both don't work?
Both being broken at arrival.. don't know..
Here's a link to one of them..
    Can anyone explain this?

no reason why your first one shouldnt work , ive used those before and all ok . they do require an earth wire though, how are you wiring them?

I cannot get both of them working.
    Brown is +battery,
    Brown/white is 'Load'
Yellow/white is negative connection, also not when being 'creative with wiring (tried all other possibilities)

Maybe these relays are from another type (Not negative/ground pole?)

I did not expect this kind of 'simple'' problem.. Seems that i still have to learn..

Thanks, i am still puzzled why the ones i have now don't work.

Maybe they are a different type, and i need one with one of the 3 terminals for negative/earth?

the brown and the brown / white wires are correct, but , not sure with the XJ900, but XJs are usually black is negative, what is the yellow/white wire for?
the relays are negative ground pole

    Brown is + contact.
    Brown/white goes to the switch/lights.
    yellow/black is ground.

But both relays do not work, so, maybe another type of some sort?

If that is the wire that goes to your stock flasher relay it is not ground, but rather from the cancel unit to control the stock flasher relay.

YES that's right, normally this 'ground' wire goes to the -removed- cancelling unit.
Still the original relay functions without the canceling relay, so i was thing it must get it's ground somewhere else..

Just to try, i made a make-shift ground (really ground) wire and connected it to one of the China-relays and.. it functiones!!
    Also the hazard-function!!!:):)

But, can someone explain why the original one functioned as it did??

It's all about the self cancelling, there are two coils inside the original relay, and one coil is used to prevent it from flashing by applying 12V to that Y/B wire.

The cancel unit applies 12V to that pin on power up and at completion of cycle counts / time when doing the cancel function. That pin remains at 12V until reset by a applying a ground to the reset wire in the left control that connects to the cancel unit.

Thanks! So in a sense, it does not get 'ground' via the cancelling unit from start?
I removed the cancelling unit some years ago for practical reasons (Dutch traffic) bit still it worked?
