outta school 25 yrs ago when i worked at a harley dealership 15 years
old and ridin DUCATTI 997'S my first love i found was a XJ600 Special
as our workshop hack then i rode a few trumpys, bsa's harleys and
jap bikes over the years owned a lil suzuki (my first project) had iron maidens "made in japan" album cover on the tank :D
anyway about a year ago picked up my first XJ750 bought it home
changed the plugs the battery and oil & filter she had been parked up for 13 years! fired her up with a lil help from ether and straight away have done around 5k kilometres on her without missing a beat my question is should i be doin more or just keep on goin? i do have a service manual but i dont believe i need to do everything they suggest she runs beautiful

even if it was parked all it's life, the rubber seals would eventually break down. I'd look into doing all new rubbers in the carbs, maybe in the gas cap if needed.

This is, of course, if you intend to keep it a while.
