I was watching the show, the current build for OCC is a Harley powered sport bike for a customer. 8O
My first thought was, Why doesn't the guy just buy a SportsterXR or a Buell?
Anyway, they put together a mono-shock frame with a Twin-Cam motor(1500 or 1600cc's) and made the triple trees. They put inverted forks on which looked like R1's to me, then came the tank. I kid you not, they modified a Yamaha R1 tank for the bike.
Old Senior acted like he couldn't wait to get that bike done and outta there.

I saw part of that. My first thought was, "this is the first bike they've ever made I would have any interest in riding." Now, if someone would tell them about four cylinders....

I saw parts of it did they do anything different with the trans. A bike that runs like a harley and has a ton of lightwieght racing components and sport bike styling just sounds ridiculous to me.
I still can't believe Sr. took the job on I could see Jr. doing it but your right that Sr. looked at it like garbage he wanted out of his shop.

They didn't show the tranny, or at least I missed it. They always use a Baker 6-speed.

I don't understand. Are you saying a vtwin motor in a bike with "sportbike styling" LOOKS ridiculous or that a big cc turbo vtwin powertrain can't be ridden like a sportbike?

All I can say is Buell, Roland Sands, Dyna, FXR...

...but what I really want to know is how many times they yelled at each other, stormed out and slammed the door and then made up in the end by saying "This is one of the best bikes I ever built"

V-twin sports bikes are fine. I am saying if they used the same setup they use for their cruisers the gearing/powerband would be way off for what at least I would be looking for in a sport bike.

They finished the build. It does have a Baker 6-speed tranny and turbo charged. They said that it was about 180 to 200 hp.
They had a posting at the end of the show that said Senior wanted to do a production sport bike, but was waiting for someone to order one first.
I'll bet that it will be a limited production. I went to a local HD dealership to look around about 2 months ago. They didn't have a single SportsterXR, all cruisers. I don't think the HD sport bike will go over in many parts of the country.

It was a good looking bike.
Why not a Victory motor? Roland Sands built one not long ago, turned out real nice.
If it was me and I went with a V motor, it would've been a V-4 VMax. That would be awesome, and lighter too.

I'm with you, Orange. I was thinking that if I had them build me a bike I'd say, "put the motor out of a Magna or something in this thing, if you just have to put a V in it" I saw the bike they made for Jay Leno, he just basically told them, "look, none of that extreme chopper stuff" because he wanted a tribute to this:

    http://thekneeslider.com/images/banquer1.jpg

That being said, I heard the bike they built him was a real piece of crap.
Not that I was thinking of ordering up a bike from OCC, lol.

I liked the bike that Sr & Jr built together recently. It had a Indian motor and copper leaf on black with red accents, looked great.

I've heard a lot of different numbers but I think the production bikes go for around 40k and the custom built ones they usually show on tv go for 100k and up. I got my XJ for free and it probably rides better than some of those all show no go bikes they make.

thanks for that joey, id say the xj would go better than any of those featured bikes. Once they get them started they all stand around saying " ïsn't it loud" , then you see a clip off them riding it in a straight line, oh well, each to there own.

They also used a $150 mass market muffler on that bike, despite what was probably a price tag well into 5 digits, maybe closing on 6. Do they EVER weld up their own pipes and mufflers, even for the "custom" choppers?

Paint is done on contract. Engines come in crates. Frames are usually from a set they have fabricated. Forks come in crates. Wheels almost always come in crates. Oh, I forgot - they design the fenders, so that they fit really nice with the one tire the bike is sold with.

They make their own pipes, fenders, handlebars, tanks and seats. But not on all builds, sometime they use a aftermarket or original equipment part and mod it.

Watched the show tonight and found out that they are having another build off between Junior, Senior, Jesse James and the guys from Fast N Loud. All the shows from now to Dec. will be about the builds and then the judging on Dec.7th if anyone's interested.

Well OCC is Back. They will be on the CMT channel Wednesday night.
Hope the new show is about making bikes without the family drama and stupidity.

Well I was wrong on the showing, it premiered last night. Wednesday night is a replay.
Bike looked great, loved the fuel tank with glass inserts, same stupid pranks.
Nice pic mtnbikecrazy55, but if I wanted a sport bike with a V-Twin, It would be something else. :)

I watched it kinda on the slow side hopefully it will get better. Not sure if the new young guy is gonna be the star of the show or not.

I wish Philly Throttle had been picked up. I found most of those bikes far more interesting than AmChop and OCC. Ah well, I'm not really their target market.
