Well, I did it... after 26 years, I found my old Bridgestone 100 TMX. The man who bought it from us in 1986 STILL HAD IT, behind his barn and under a tarp.

It's really rough, as you might imagine. Why people think it's OK to leave bikes outside under a tarp is beyond me, but I'm just ecstatic to have it back.

The cylinder's seized (I'm guessing by the stuck kickstarter and the locked rear wheel), and the bike's generally a rusty mess, but I'm looking forward to starting to fix it up after my OTHER bike project (the '46 H-D) is finished next year. This Bridgestone project will be a father/son endeavor, too, as he is 13 and this will be his first motorcycle.

Wanted to thank all of you fine folks, too, because without all of your help over these years with my Seca, I never would have the know-how or confidence to tackle a bike in this kind of shape!

Ha! Saw one on American Pickers last night! Great feeling to have your old bike again! I just re-took ownership of my brother's 250 1957 Enfield. Been in our family since 1969! Welcome back old friend...

Here's a couple photos of my old Bridgestone, before strapping it down and bringing it home for resurrection.

It's been a couple months now and my son and I have it down to the frame. I was surprised: every bolt that needed to break, broke; every bolt that I dreaded would break, didn't. Amazing.

I agree, dragsta. I personally wouldn't have an "outside dog."

On another note, I was able to get the piston free, and the engine's nice and loose (and oily) on the inside. The cylinder will need re-bored and I think it gets replated.

I've been wanting to find my first bike for a while. 1973 Honda ST90. I sold it to my cousin when I joined the Marines. He gave it to his daughter, who claimed she could never get it started. Then...who knows? I haven't seen it since the 1980's.
