Drove up and helped the guy get his maxim 550 running

well, he ordered new carb boots, plugs, and some other bits to get it running right

as payment for the help he gave me the cover

I’ll be throwing this on my 550

Good for you! That looks like it should be easy (for those that know what they are doing) to scan and 3D print. As rare as those are might it make it more worth the time for it.

The guy even asked me “Are these worth alot?”
I didn’t really know how to answer though, I did say they are very rare, but I’ve never seen one for sale or a price

he did mention he had a friend who does 3d printing and scanning and could make them and sell them

But I dont know how well they’d sell, or for how much

    Missing:
    Right side cover
    Right engine guard
    Right foot peg
    Right engine cover
    Turn signals
    Fairing assembly
    Cluster
    Air scoops

    wrong:
    Mirrors
    Seat cover
    Grips
    Tires
    Headlight/lights assembly
    Color
    Emblems

I’m not being picky, just observing.

And it’s not a Maximum, either. It’s not a Maxim, EITHER......

I even want to say it’s not a 750, either....BUT—— Canada DID have a 1983 xj750rj, so he may actually be right on that point....... lol

The best deals are had from sellers who don’t know what they’re selling

Got my first Z1 from a guy that listed it as a KZ900. Rolled up, checked the VIN and rode it home for $500. I didn’t feel bad, he was a total jackass from the minute I called him. I would a been fine with a KZ but that was icing on the cake.

Yeah, wrong mirrors and seat cover...... color looks like a repaint, I don’t recall that color red.

good thing he’s not in a hurry to sell. But if it sells for close to that, it drives our price point up, so heck—go for it :)
