Any thoughts other than hammering the crap out of it?

    Bought my bike like this and tried to hammer it out but so far its a no go. (Yes I did move the swing arm out the way first) Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

    did it move at all? you've got some serious boogers on there now, stop hitting it.
    can you beat it back in, then get rid of those boogers with a file or dremmel tool, then drill the center out as big as you can, put something in the hole and beat that.
    don't forget oil and heat

    Agreed. Stop beating on it.

    Get busy with a small sharp file and clean the "stub" up as best you can. It needs to come back OUT enough so the lever in the back can rotate down out of the way.

    You've got to get it rotating, or it's not going to come out.

    Great thanks for the tips, my hammering didn't move it at all, all the banged up part was from the guy before. Will try to fix it tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks!

    Kroil yes ++, PB blaster yes + , but don't forget about heat-after you get rid of the hammered snot bugs use a propane torch, smaller flame is better and heat it up really well. Then let it cool a bit and respray with either of the two penetrants. Let it sit (24 hours is good) and cool then heat again and when just warm try again.
