So I was thinking of modifying the rear to mono-shock using components off an XV750 but I don't want to do away with the airbox entirely (It's kind of in the way). I tried pods and couldn't get them to work. Perhaps its my other engine problems but it will take me a while to sort them out so I am just looking at other angles. What I was thinking was making an airbox out of aluminum that drops down and partially if not completely wraps the mono (with an operating gap of course) The reason for that would be to keep the original volume of the stock airbox and approxiamate intake point. I don't know how much this stuff matters but humor me.

    Thanks,

    Bryce

The logic behind this is that I want the bike to be entirely mine, and I want like others to show that you can mod these bikes if you take the time. Also from a functionality standpoint I would like to lower the seat height and the ride height a little (in the future of course).

Build a pattern out of cardboard, or send measurements.
I can't weld aluminum with my machines, but I can make you one out of sheet metal.
If you're willing to accept a little compromise, I'll build it. I've got a plasma cutter, ranger 8, and a mig, Problem is... I can't push aluminum wire through my mig, and my arc burns too hot for anything less than 1/4". I don't own a TIG either, so that's out of the question too.

    Let me know.
