Whenever I get a bike that I'm gonna keep, I'll make a mount for my favorite video camera. I use a Canon Optura 20. It uses MiniDV tapes which I like. I've some other MiniDV equipment that I use to edit the tapes with.
What kind of video do you run? ...assuming you run one. Bullet cams, pocket cams, helmet cams, etc..
I installed the mount on the SECAs handlebars. I'll make another mount over the tank in the near future, but the handlebar mount puts more scenery in the frame IMO. Tank mounting shows the gauges.
I also run a mic to the back of the bike for the sweet sound of the exhaust. With the SECA, I'll run the mic inside the seat that I'm making. There's a hollow access under the passenger portion that gets no wind and should make the exhaust note stand-out really well.
I'll get some better pics up if anyone is interested. The pic below I took with my phone, as I usually use the camera in the picture for posting pics.

Anyway, ...anyone else into shooting video of their rides?

Sounds like you have some good ideas. I have done very little of this, but would do more if I had a GoPro camera. They have to be the best for doing stuff like this. Apparently there is no wind noise with them, weatherproof, etc. If you are really into this I'd suggest you treat yourself to a camera dedicated to doing this. Then show us some of your stuff, I'd look forward to it.

    Hey Cap'n.
Too ironic... Been kickin' around the thought here
lately and have seen some some purdy cool vids
on utube. Be real interested to see what you did
with a mount. Just don't care to much for some
of the PVC stuff. Don't like the idea of bein' the
cause of a pile up, Ya' know...
Thanks for postin' this up!!! 8)

I bought a GoPro HD Hero a couple months ago. Worth every penny. GoPro gives you a generous slew of mounts with the camera. Usually it's mounted on the side of my helmet.

This was one of my first or second test runs back in March:

I borrowed a firends Ninja yesterday and mounted the camera right here. It actually turned out kind of neat. Still going through all the footage.

    I'm low tech,

I just use an old t-shirt, a canon d-75 and some electric tape to keep it snug.

    Video

the trick is covering the sound hole with tape so you cut down on most of the wind noise...

That worked quite well. Must say I'd rarely watch 15 min of anything on youtube, short and sweet works best IMO. I grabbed a few places on yours and got the picture. I guess I could watch it all if I wanted to see some of Kitchner :)

You don't want to see TOOO much of Kitchener ;)

I noticed this weekend there's an '81 Seca of some displacement running around Tavistock, drove by my place twice. Anyone on here?

Hopefully *sigh* my exhaust comes in today or tomorrow and i'll have a running bike this week. 30 day wait time has turned into 2 months, for no good reason other than MAC waits to ship out in quantity. EVEN tho my exhaust is the only one coming to Canada.... LoL figure that one out ;)

The CanadaPost strike didn't affect it any? I had heard that "reduced" services HAD been continuing, until the Government "locked out" the workers on June 15; then the US Postal Service stopped accepting Canadian mail on June 18. Last USPS update I can find is from June 23; they're still "monitoring the situation."

So unless they're shipping with someone other than the Post Office, it may still be a while.
