My '85 Maxim XJ700m runs way rich, about 25 mpg. It's all stock from what I can tell, and have been told, I'm pretty sure its a carb problem and needs to be cleaned and adjsted. I had it cleaned but the mechanic was not aware of the need to drill out the plugs for the fuel/air screws so clearly did not do a complete cleaning/adjustment. I printed out Rick's old school cleaning guide but I really do not have the time/skill/tools to do it. Thus am not willing to even try. This bike just rolled 12k and is in excellent condition, but the fact both my cars get better mileage in bothersome.

    Thanks,

    Mark
