I just ordered some of the drag bars from MikesXS and I was wonderin if any of the spike type bar ends from ebay would fit?

    Any 7/8" barends will work.

You'll have to cut off the end of the throttle sleeve though.

I haven't had any negative effects.
It just allows you to move the throttle in past the end of the bar.

I actually got my bar-end mirrors (similar) on without completely removing the end of the sleeve. i went in from the side and removed enough plastic to allow the throttle-side mirror to be mounted, but left enough to still stop the throttle from sliding in too far. I had a little trouble initially with the throttle binding, but once i cleared enough to allow it to rotate freely I've been good.

Yeah I tried that first too. But it was a bit sloppy (couldn't get the bar end in all the way to the end of the bars)... Plus I wanted to add some clamp-on mirrors, so it wouldn't have worked out in the end.

My vote is still on hacking off the end for a nice flat surface for the bar end to go up against, and to keep it off of the grip - so it won't work itself back out.

I think mine worked because the mirror had a good 1-1.5" mounting 'post', something like these:
    http://www.oldbritts.com/70_201001.html

The bars were already setup to receive the mounting bolt and everything just fit perfectly. I have about 1mm of space between the flat part of the mirror mount and the grip.

...if that didn't make any sense, or if the bar ends don't have the same kind of mounting 'post,' or if you just want to listen to the guy with more experience, then do it Ease's way. :)
