Okay so I am ready to head out to a friends this morning. I have no power anywhere in my bike. No lights, no signals, no horn, no warning lights, no neutral light, no start.

I put a meter on my battery and read a little over 13 volts.

A couple of days ago I wired my gps to the bike by adding a cigarette lighter to the system. I ran it for about 70 kilometers with no problem.

Left the GPS on it for a few hours yesterday without the engine running. But that is about all that happened.

Any ideas so I might still be able to take it to my friends.

When you get a NO Start after recent work, ... you check the integrity of what you did.
You might have to UN-do and test without the accessory wiring.

If you are running a Stock Fuse Panel ... that could be it.

    Open the Headlight.
Follow the Ign. Switch Pigtail to where it Plugs into the Wiring Harness

Test the RED Wire / +12 Volts Hot = OK = Pwr to Switch
    No Power = Short
Check Wiring back to Battery through Fuse Block.

You didn't manage to trip the kill switch un intentionally?? Sorry if that comes off as a dumb or mean question.

Okay here is the scoop, sorry I didn't post it yesterday but I had to run.

It turns out there is a fuse located away from the fuse box. It is a black little rubber box with two red wires running to it. Inside here is a fuse that if blown will cut the power to the entire bike. This fuse was blown. But boy did it take a while to find out about it and to find it.

So all is well. Thanks to all your posts here with help and advise.

    Have a good one.

Dave, if I am correct, that is your MAIN fuse. If you have NOTHING that is where you need to start. Something blew that fuse, might want to check on your work to ensure there is nothing amiss. I had an airhead that kept blowing fuses...I had a bad coil, or 2

That "Hidden" Fuse Holder is a Poor-mans Anti Theft Measure. If that holder was hidden good ... its probably a secret "Switch" the PO installed to prevent the Bike from Starting when he left it parked in na vulnerable spot.

Take that Fuse out and the Bike is dead.
    Crooks don't troubleshoot.
I'd keep it and Fuse it right.

Now, find-out what you did to Blow the Fuse.
Putting too much of a draw on the Ignition Circuit will do the trick.
Create a Circuit for the Accessories.
Run right off the Battery ...

To a vacant Terminal on a New Fuse Panel -or-
On a Fused +12V Switched Circuit that you run off a RELAY installed to Close and Open off a "Signal Circuit" that is controlled by the Ignition Switch.

While I was installing the GPS power supply that little box got moved and smacked a fair bit. I didn't know what it was at the time. I think the little abuse it was getting made it think it owed me one.
