Hi guys, I am new to your site and am sorry if this is in the wrong place or been covered before (I have read a couple of your threads on this topic but they all seem to want to get rid of the sensor). I have a 1100 maxim (1981) and have lost the level sensor part of the wire from the battery. Although I do not have a lot of trouble getting parts for the old girl this bit seems a little tricky! I was wondering if you can still get these bits on your side of the pond and if so where?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks K-moe, that's a great help. I do have the wet cell battery but what your suggesting might be a better option. Thanks again.

You will want to check your electrolyte level pretty often if you don't use the original type of monitor.
If anyplace near you has the original style it'll be Yambits. You might also check anyplace that sells small watercraft, or that specalizes in just selling batteries.

Hi Guys, I have tried Yambits and Yuasa tell me they only supply level indicators with the battery ( I bought a new one with the level indicator port in it but not Yuasa). Has anybody got one they don't use they could sell me?.. While I'm asking, should the red warning light stay on or should it flash on and off, (mine does the later!)?

The original sensor is a level indicator.

The warning light will flash. Press the Warning Control button (on the left) and the light will become steady. Press the button again and the light will go off for a while, allowing you to ride without distraction. The BATT line on the LCD will stay on until the fault is fixed, or the bike is turned off.
