If my water levels are always low on my battery (in the summer and about 3/4 full), does that imply that it's overheating and i have to change my rectifier/regulator? Last time i fixed my motorcycle (May 2016), they suggested it.

When the motorcycle was in use in the summer, I had some issues and noticed that the water levels were low and I topped it up on Oct 12. Then when i winterized the motorcycle in November, i noticed that the water levels were low again (after 1 month of riding).

It's winterized now and battery is removed and plugged into an Optimate Desulphating charger, and the water levels are still good after 4 months.

My bike kinda just dies in the summer. I kept it plugged to a desulphatating Optimate charger daily when riding in the summer. I noticed when wintering my motorcycle that the (distilled) water levels were about 3/4. This was after i refilled it about 1 month ago.

I've been having some electrical issues with my bike previously:

The problem with a "wet" battery is over charging ends up cooking the battery and you have to replenish water level . Do you have fluid in the drain tube ? This is first clue of this . I switched to an AMG sealed battery from Batterys Plus was 79.00 . Now if you are overcharging best way to check with a voltmeter check you battery voltage before starting (12V ) start bike check voltage should jump to 13V at idle rev bike up to about 2500rpm check your voltage should be under 14V if it higher than that then you might have a regulator problem . I ran a walmart special battery in one of my bikes once and was only able to get one season out of ,while had an Interstate in it's place got 3 yrs out of it. So my point is it could be quality of the battery read (CHINA)
