How do I bypass the sensor ? Just ground the wire to the frame somewhere ?

Getting to the final stages.....put in a new Power Source Battery......amazing what a new battery does for you...she cranks strong.......I must have fried my other new battery by charging with a 2 amp charger for too many hours......lesson learned....have since bought a Battery Tender suggested by Bigfitz52......

So here is what I know, Solid new battery, power to all fuses solid, pickup coils solid, Alternator brushes good, starter brushes good, power to the coils is good & ohms output good----tested with & without caps on ( 2 caps donated by xjrider92117) - 21K & 11k respectively, primary test 2.5k, & TCI ignitor is solid..

Thanks to K-Moe for a running test on my TCI ----it pulled strong all the way thru the power band up to the redline - well worth sending a questionable TCI to someone with a know good running bike........saves someone from guessing and having to buy one off sleazebay....

Final stages......hook up gas & vac line, put some gas in it, prime the bowls, and she if it fires up......then vacuum sync & colortune......

    Fingers crossed...

If it doesn't fire up......I will take the first $3000.00 that comes along....or $300.00....lol

Thanks for everyone's help to this point.......

The Black Max...it is almost as if a Raider's fan should own this bike.....almost wants me to paint it blue & yellow being from San Diego.....nah.....the silver & black attack is fine me......all stock except for the emblems....hand painted silver...better than that unsightly gold look....only thing missing is the emblem under the aux light up front.....almost looks like the day I got it 32 years ago.....somewhat....

you ca put it on the + terminal of the battery or any +12 volt wire that comes on with the key
    or
get chacal's battery light mod, for more functionality

Thanks....makes sense, it is measuring the voltage of the battery, so of course , ground to any 12 V connection.....idiot me was suggesting the complete opposite.....I should have thought more about it......duh....

Not sure if this will help, but if you're just trying to avoid the idiot light from flashing, gear up something like this (using one of the boy's guides).

Just thrown a 2k Ohm resistor in there, and the ring connector goes onto the solenoid (positive).

Cut the sensor tip off. Splice the wire a bit. Attach it to pos. Worked like a charm. Leave the resistors on. Just cut the part that goes in the battery.

I was just looking at the OPs picture of his bike... Why you no Spark Plug wires?

He's been working through the ignition system for some time now, That may be an old pic, or he managed to find an NOS set of the "Wonder Woman" plug wires that Yamaha offered.

Thanks Schmuck for the write-up on bypass.....I thought I was finally done with Chacal......maybe one more small order

New Patent....no wires are needed...wireless ignition to spark plug....signal sent via the airwaves......patent is pending.....lol

Pic with Wires.....pipes with some minor scratching.....need to paint the indented areas of aluminum handlebars to look like the originals.....& decals were painted silver & instead of restoring to original gold flake (ugly)....
