Battery sensor repair

    The sensor is a pretty simple part. Short of a dirty tip the only other problem I could imagine is failure of the connection where the pigtail joins the probe. (after a quick check with a multimeter I dicovered that mine was going bad) Problem is that the part is moulded one piece so you cant readily get to that connection. I cut a small slot with a dental tip on my dremel just above where the pigtail enters the plastic head. A little patience and sure enough I exposed the joint near the center of the sensor. Originally the pigtail connected on the side of the probe but I was able to easily solder it back on to the top. I then filled the area that I had dremeled out with epoxy putty and reshaped the screwdiver slot.
