You all be Careful 2 riders were killed this weekend in southwest Indiana not far from my home here in Kentucky. One with a helmet one with out .

 

yikes. i haven't rode all weekend i almost got hit several times on my way home from work friday ive been too nervous of all the drivers out this weekend.

 

I had 2 pull out in front of me last Monday one was texting.

 

i had a teenage girl texting swerve into my lane and almost didn't see me just a few hours ago.

Driving my truck friday, I passed a kid on a crotch rocket texting.

 

how do you text on a crotch rocket?

 

He was probably trying to record video of how cool he was. That way they can show it at his funeral.

 

Try living in Louisiana, they all text while driving, but I get them all back when I give them their $127 ticket!

 

Just read that 5 were killed yesterday afternoon... on three bikes that hit a van on rt 72 in Penn Township. This is about two miles from my house and I was zipping around on these roads about 15 mins before the crash. My county already has 8 motorcycle fatalities this year and we're only about 3 months into riding season. Please be very careful.

 

I live on Cape Cod where we have several rotaries (roundabouts) where tourists do everything imaginable. Give up the right of way, even though you have it is one key to survival. Stop lamp flashers are most states legal, that makes them back off. Make certain you clear the intersection before proceeding through it, this is the safest way of ensuring you come out the other side on two wheels.

 

I havent been able to ride, let alone walk without crutches since April. My Turbo Seca was totalled thanks to someone that wasnt paying attention. Sitting at home, not working with a broken knee cap. Yup there is more stupid people out there. Don't know if its the cell phone/texting or if the idiots are just getting to be more prolific. I will probably never ride again in Southern Ca. If I do it will be to get the hell out of here and go someplace else that is not populated!!! One more rant, if driving while texting or talking on a non hands free cell phone is just like driving while intoxicated, then why are the friggin fines for it only 20 bucks in CA? When I was riding, one out of every 7 was yaking on a cell or texting??

With regards to texting...if someone wanders in their lane or comes close to hitting me, they will have a close encounter of the maxim kind...mainly the rider off the bike at the next available opportunity.

 

a driver tried to move over on me while yakking on his phone today but soon got the message when i stuck my boot into his door and caved it in for him. he was a little upset at the time and when we both pulled up to discuss the matter he seemed to think i was going to pay for his door. (ROFLMAO). didn't think to much about it after the cop bike following saw the whole thing and hit him with about $500.00 worth of fines and six demerit points. cop told me good job but don't make a habit of it.
yes sir and rode to work.

defensive riding helps to keep you alive. think that they (cages) are all out to get you and keep an extra eye open in traffic.

touch wood today is as close as i want to get to being involved in a prang.

Hopefully the No texting Law that went into effect July 1 in Michigan will help out a bit.... Its getting crazy!!

I was ran into the left turn lane by a lady in her 40's texting!

 

Fortunately, I don't live anywhere near California. Still, dumb people are everywhere. I just follow my basic survival instinct that EVERYTHING is out to kill me until proven otherwise, especially giant metal death machines.
