I'm beginning to think it might be the end of the season early this year.

And what a crappy year it's been. Either hot as hell or raining.

    ARRRGGGHHHH

I guess it's time to start wrenching on the winter project.
I even moved the patio furniture into storage today

Luckily there isn't any snow here in the mitten...yet.

Won't be long though, so time to get the winter list ready.

Yeah I saw that on the weather site this morning; looks like the whole eastern seaboard is getting an early winter storm. We got 48 and rain.

According to the NOAA it's supposed to get sunny with mid-upper 50's here next week, that's bound to drift your way too.

All the bad weather went just north of atl. We could of used the rain. We did not have much of a fall about 4 weeks. I know what hell must be like temps here everyday from May to sept 90+. Just wish we would get some rain we had a little over 3 inches since May. The front really cooled things off got to 57 today with 30mph winds and dropping to 35 tonight. Hope everyone makes it thru the mess to the north of us tonight.

I am in Arizona now (been here for 4 years), which is gorgeous riding weather all year. Even the full summer Tucson heat isn't bad for me. However, I spent most of my life in the midwest (St. Louis, MO area and Southern Illinois) and it sucked during the latter fall and all of winter for riding. I did live in Wyoming for a year and a half. NOT FUN!

Just rain down this way in Baltimore. Even though the plow truck has been sitting under the bridge since 7 this morning, no wonder the state is broke.

I did make a trip in my truck out to Frederick this morning to get my kid. Was supposed to have space derby for the scouts. They canceled it and it's indoors.

Though on the drive I did see one suv upside down and three cars backed in to the ditch on seperate spots along the road. I never even locked my front hubs. Wet but clear pavement the whole way and temps above freezing.

Man...we got about 8" and trees came down everywhere. Lots of people still without power.
I got lucky and power stayed on but lost internet until tonight. High 40s today and supposed to break 50 tomorrow so it won't be here for long.
If the winter is anything like the last two months (constant rain), I'm gonna have to buy a snowmobile!

Mr. Fox>> Got any spares? (I'm sure you do!)

Winter has been harsh way down here the last 3 years. We've had 2 ice-storms, major snowstorms, and brutal cold for this far south. The January 09 Ice storm was devastating-you can still drive up through the mountain passes and see about every 4th tree either damaged or dead. We were w/o power for 10days and no TV for 14. Farmer's almanac says this winter will be wet, but not as cold. Hoping it's right otherwise I will begin thinking about flying south, or buying a snowmobile!

I'm about to pack it in soon myself. Getting the frost off the windscreen at 5am is no fun.

    On to winter projects!

I had put the bikes in hibernation for the winter, but yesterday and today were supposed to be in the upper 60's, so I woke up the 700 airhead. I've switched some parts around so now she is the "pseudo-bobber", just like I did with the black one. There are a couple things to do yet to reach that level, but there are other things that I have done farther than what I did previously.....the rear fender is now a harley bobtail fender that I modified to fit the 700. That fender's taillight is still inside it, and works perfectly. I am also toying wit the idea of putting straight mufflers with turnouts on instead of the original exhaust. I'll try that in the spring. Since it's supposed to rain tomorrow, she's back in storage now.

I did cut the seat way down as before, so it really is looking pretty cool..

Yesterday was kind of chilly but clear and enjoyable. Today was warmer (45 when I left home) most of the way in. But, about 25 mi out, the temp seemed to be really dropping. I figured I was feeling that cuz the wind was starting to work it's way through the jackets. It REALLY started getting downright cold, and I was wondering why I would get so cold all of a sudden. Of course, I found out the reason.....I went through a puny town that consists of only a crossroad (just like everywhere else up here) and after the few houses I got to the fields and they were all covered in HEAVY frost. Over the next two big hills and as I dropped into the valley where I work, it was full with a giant fog bank. So I couldn't see well for the last four miles, either. Got to school all cold and wet. Brrr....BUT--had a nice sunny warm ride home this afternoon!!!! :)

Mike if you still need to get a sled "fix" come on up this winter! Bill did last year..................

Well I figured I had a couple more weeks left, until I was on the way to work at 4am today and she started complaining about going over 4k RPM. Limped home, figuring just a clogged fuel filter.

Home from work, replaced fuel filter, tested petcock, and called no joy.

Guess tomorrow I'll be pulling the tank and checking the in-tank screen.

May just have to park the old girl a little earlier than planned and start in on my snow day list.

Oh well, just about time for a valve adjustment anyways.

Gotta put more than 4500 miles on her next year though.
