BENT VALVE on XS 750

    A buddy of mine is buying an XS Midnight Special. Owner says it has a bent valve and my buddy is asking me for advice. I told him I'm no guru but I know some wizards.

    So if a bike has a bent valve, what does that mean? Could there be something else fatally wrong with the bike that resulted from a bent valve? How the heck do you bend a valve anyways?

    Even if he can wrench ... it gets into more work than its worth.

    A bent Valve means the Head has got to come off and get Machine Shop work.

    The Piston of that Bent Valve Cylinder needs to be examined for Impact and Magna-Fluxed for any stress fracture.

    All the Fun could be used-up and he might be buying a nightmare.

    Ask him! How'd it get bent?
