What are the products/prodecures best suited for paint/chrome removal. I know paint removal is fairly easy but I've never removed chrome. Is there a product that will work or just use a wire wheel/grinder?

There's a product called "aircraft remover" that cuts right thru paint that comes in a spray can, but you can use any paint stripper from a hardware store - get brushes and putty knife, gloves and lots of newspaper.

You don't have to remove chrome, just rust and PEELING chrome.
Resist the temptation of using 60-80 grit paper which makes fast work of metal prep, but leaves scratches that NEVER go away.
Spend more time with 220 and up grit, prime, sand again, tack cloth, paint multiple thin coats and you'll have a perfect finish.

Glue a piece of 220 grit to a piece of cardboard for a mini-block sander with some double-stick tape on the backside
