just wanted to throw a little tip out there for you guys,i bought some lucas upper cylinder lubricant on a whim about 2 months ago, and i have never seen anything work so well in my life!I tried seafoam, stp, berrymans, and none of it worked as well.Increased gas mileage from 35 to 45,and knocked out a problem i had with fouling plugs. It cost me $10 for a 16 ounce ug and it has lasted me 2 months on every fillup so it is not too expensive.Try it,it will help!!!!!!!!!!

Lucas has a few other good chemicals out there as well. Thanks for the feedback, I have seen the product you mention but never bothered to find out what it did (I always obtained satisfactory results from the B-12).

    Hi Kenny,

I would like to refer you to http://www.bobistheoilguy - there on this scientific site about oil is a writeup on the 'lucas' additive.

    http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm

I know you think it's increased your fuel economy. You might be obtaining the same effect by using Mobile 1 100% synth, or Esso XD3 0W40 oil. Lucas is crap. Plain and simple. It's deceptive and has 0 benefit to your engine. It might be actually causing harm to your bearing, valves, and lifters.

Very interesting, and very very scarey. Personally, I wouldn't just wait for the next time to change my oil, I would RUN and change my oil right away and get that crap out of your bike before you ruin your oil pump or your engine. The XJ bikes are even more high-performance than the test Bob ran.

But, if you think it works, then I can only offer my advice.

    Cheers.

Thanx for your concern mr.fork but I am not using the oil stabilizer,I am using the upper engine lubricant that mixes with your gas.Never use oil additives myself but I have tried plenty of fuel additives since I never run premium petro anymore.

I too failed to mention I don't use crankcase additives. I have used fuel additives exclusively. Thanks for the link, most informative.

When my bike was revived I had a lot of varnished up parts inside. (like my valves werent closing all the way, just a gap)
I ran Marvel Mystery oil in my crankcase for about 3 oil changes (one every 100 miles) and everything freed up, my bike runs GREAT now.
However, I never run additives in my oil as a rule, but I do use Mystery oil in my fuel. I.ve never had an engine varnish up on a long storage and my engines seem to last longer and have fewer problems. (to me)

There is NO MAGIC in a bottle that I've found. (Techron comes close though)
