Does anyone know, are big bore kits available? If so, who sells them. For 82 xj750.

    +1
Swapping a 900 in is less work, and the big bore kit for the 750 leaves the cylinder liners a tad on the thin side IMO.

Even so, I do get tempted sometimes to build an engine with that kit, or better yet the discontinued kit that came with the cylinders pre-bored for the pistons.

Has anyone ordered this exact kit from rcaterink.top? It seems a little sketchy to me that you can get all four pistons, pins, clips, rings, and a head gasket for $65. I've also looked for a description, and there seems to be none...like what size is the overbore.

What are differences in the 900cc vs. the 750cc? Most interesting to me is the weight and claimed horsepower of the two motors.
    Cheers, 50gary

    853 bore 67 stroke 60.5
    Valves 36.1 and 30
    CR 9.6:1

    748 bore 65 stroke 56.4
    Valves 33 and 28
    CR 9.2:1

    carbs 35 Mikuni on 900
    32 Hitachi on 750

900 has a bigger head with extra cam support so cams are not interchangeable
I just tore a 650 Turbo and a 900 apart, the transmissions appear the same.

I’m not clear what changes were made to the 891 that Euro/UK/AUS got -bore increased to 68.5 stroke stayed 60.5
