Bike jumps out of first gear!

    When I get on it, the bike jumps out of first gear and goes into a false neutral. Only happens in first.
    Is that my transmission going or something relatively simple? (simple=without pulling the engine out)

    While it could be worn dogs, it's more likely that the shifting pawl isn't fully engaging and not putting the shift drum in the proper locaion.

    Drain the oil, pull the shift cover, and have a look (take some pictures for us too).
