:x I have a 1981 XJ750 Sica. My bike wont charge my battery, I have changed my voltage regulator and no luck I even change my brushes on the alternator, I checked the field coil resistance, armature resistance, I even checked my voltage regulator for continuity, I even checked all my fuses and all seems fine, but it is still not charging the battery and since I changed the voltage regulator the bike should to a self test but all my guages exsample head light, tail light, oil, petrol, brake, all stay on and dont go off. Please help

    Two thoughts

Is the battery bad? Take it to an auto parts store and have it tested. It may not take a charge. Check the fluid levels while you're at it. Friend of mine bought a brand new battery that wouldn't take a charge so you never know.

Have you checked the voltage at the battery at above 2000 RPM? Should be in the 14 V range. If it's not start working backwards to see if you have a bad connection.

sounds like potentially a bad ground, if the generator parts are new. Bad ground can cause low voltage across the board.
