Could be a lot of things...

Last time you cleaned the carbs?

Have you adjusted the idle screw?

It dies when you 'push in' the clutch. You mean when you pull on the clutch to allow to shift?

If it 'has more power' with the choke on, that just means it's getting the air/fuel it needs to run better.

Battery dead because you tried to start it so much?

First things first, get the battery charged up.

Start it with choke on, after it warms up a few minutes - slowly kill the the choke. If it starts to die, turn the idle screw (under and behind the 4 carbs, small knob) turn that IN, screwing it IN.

If the idle clears up a bit, continue to cut off the choke till it is off completely. Hopefully it's running and idling good.

If not, carbs are in need of cleaning.

Either that - or you ran out of gas on RESERVE, OR your petcock is clogged up. Try prime.

If I remember correctly, hasn't your bike now been sitting for a while?

I would start by cracking loose the carb drain screws (if they're free) and draining whatever is in the float bowls.

You're probably going to have to pull and clean the carbs.
