    Hello everyone.

I'm thinking about buying a biker jacket and would love some advice from people who own or have tried different styles. What should I prioritize, leather quality, fit, or brand reputation?

Are real leather jackets worth the extra cost compared to faux leather in terms of durability and comfort? Also, how important is protection if I plan to use it mainly for fashion rather than riding?

I’m confused about sizing since some jackets run tight, while others are more relaxed.

Any recommendations for trusted brands or common mistakes to avoid when choosing a biker jacket would be helpful for me.

So being straight up a jacket is like a couch cushion and you have to find the one that really fits YOU. Regardless of the "type" or style it comes down to how much road-rash can you handle when things go sideways and this is a matter of WHEN not IF. I don't wear a leather jacket for style or statement its for the protection against the elements be it wind, driving rain, bugs and other particles so while there are "pretty" jackets out there I'd recommend finding something that fits. Brand recommendations? Stick with something quality not tacky, mine is a 23rdst (23rd street) which makes them in china but I have to say it's of good quality for the money.

Leather is HOT. I wear a heavy Joe Rocket with a zip in liner for cold weather and a mesh Joe Rocket for summer heat, with a zip in rain liner. Having armor instead of leather to protect is a bonus. Many good armored, textile jackets out there unless you need to have the leather look.

Get something that covers your basic needs/wants...protection, fit, look. Then after wearing it for a season you'll have a mental list of stuff that you would prefer or upgrade and that becomes jacket #2 purchase. I find the same with helmets. You just don't know til using them for a while.
