It's overpriced on craigslist because you know how craigslist works. You guys here know what I've done to this bike already. It runs great. Let me know if you're interested and what you'd offer. You'd have to arrange pickup, etc....

EDIT: I've got 1700 into this bike and a TON of time (purchase price of $1,000 included) If I could get that back i'd be happy :)

I'm not sure where the PO got the seat. I haven't seen em online anywhere. Was actually looking to trade for a stock seat at one point. Now I need to sell the bike :(

Yea man, after all that work I put in, selling it hurts a little. I learned a bunch though. We'll see, hopefully I can sell it in a week or so.... need the cash quickly.

The seat looks like the one on my bike and I bought it through JC Whitney. I had to use my original seat pan/frame but it came with the padded seat and cover. I just had to put it on. I love it. It's very comfortable for those long rides.

Thanks Rick. I put some time into this one man. I feel like an idiot selling it, but hey I learned a bunch and met all of you guys (at least digitally). I haven't had any bites yet....

If you're really lucky, maybe someone here will buy it temporarily, and then when you're able, buy it back. If you were close enough and I had the cash, that's what I'd do.

BUT.......if you can't do that, at least stay here anyway, and when you're back on your feet I KNOW there's going to be people here that will be willing to sell you one.

If nothing else, even though I'm a half country away from you, get yourself comfortable again and then pm me.........I almost always have some xj's around (look at my signature, LOL) and would try to hook you up.

hate to hear you have to get rid of it because of bills. I follow cl real closely i see bunches of over priced bikes. The people get tired of re posting the ads and come down to decent prices. The ones that really bother me is you see one for 1500 that is nice a few days later its 1000 you figure they sold it. A few days later its back now they are asking 2500 then they start coming down. I don't understand if they could not sell it for 1k why would you raise the price way up. I see this a lot same phone numbers so you know its the same bikes. But the ones that really bother me are the ones that say they have had it 25 mph faster then the bikes go or they say it keeps up with their buddies super bikes. They should just write the add ran hard put away wet no one wants to buy a bike from an add saying that.

Yeah, I agree you should be leaning in the different direction on the price. These bikes are worth up-to $1,5k for super immaculate condition. What you put into it does not really affect the price. Sad but true!

That's a bummer having to sell your bike but i have a question about the fuel tap .. looks like a non vac' type, can you turn it to RES with a gloved hand while riding or is it too tight a fit for the lever to go up under the tank.

Bushy, that was my concern too once I installed it. You're right it's a non vac petcock. But yea, I've never had to go to res, but I did forget to turn the fuel on when riding, once it started starving, I can reach down just fine with a gloved hand while riding and turn it to on.
