Discolouration on the pipes is usually just heat effect on the chrome.
There are polishes that are supposed to remove the blue, personally I kinda like the blue it means it gets ridden.

only the plugs tell the truth in the mixture game.
check plugs if you think your running lean.
I like using crome polish to get that nasty color off...speaking of that, better get back to work.

Blue pipes could be caused by lean carbs, high octane fuel or just long rides i would think.

    Oh, so lonesome for you
Why can't you be blue over me?

    Blue
    Oh, so lonesome for you
Tears fill my eyes 'till I can't see

3 o'clock in the mornin, here am I
Sitting here so lonely, so lonesome I could cry

    Blue
    Oh, so lonesome for you
Why can't you be blue over me?

Now that it's over, I realized
Those weak words you whispered, were nothing but lies

    Blue
    Oh, so lonesome for you
Why can't you be blue over me?

Why can't you be blue, over me?

the blue color is from the chrome reacting with the air at a certain temperature
the chrome is now blue or yellow or whatever
if you keep polishing it off, soon it will be gone and rust will take it's place
colored chrome means you still have chrome, thats a good thing
