I can't see how those Electric Fans are going to do much of anything to improve performance on an XJ-Bike.

im guessing it would lean the bike out, make it go slightly faster, until your stator melts inside the cover. Doesnt look like that thing could handle much exhaust or it would melt.

    Electric turbos :shudder:

hmm maybe we can fit 4 inside the airbox, and another 6 or 7 in assorted places around the bike

I think with the voltage consumed and the strain on the charging system you would be hard pressed to supply the coils with enough to keep them firing the way you need them too. As the voltage drops and the fans slow down....what a tuners nightmare. I am thinking I will still keep saving for the ACME rockets to strap on it seems to be a better bet than these things.

    Save your money.
Those things aren't going to do you any good.

I remember one of my classmates used something similar for his final engineering project.
He was very embarrassed when the judges panel asked him how many CFM it moved.
Then they asked his engine displacement.
    Then his normal opperating rpm.
They asked him to calculate the amount of air his engine normally consumed and pointed out that anything over 2000 engine rpm would result in the "turbo" fan actually restricting the air flow and turning into a generator.

Well, the ad does say it's for small engines, from 50 - 125cc. Although I must confess, that looks like something one would use to cool a video card as opposed to turbocharging an engine.

If (and that's a big if) this thing actually works, it's not driven by exhaust gas. It is technically an electrically driven supercharger.
So your 50cc scooter is "blown", not "turbo'd".

The fact that the manufacturer was incapable of making this distinction doesn't leave me much hope for success with their product.

Neither does the dubious "quality" of the mating of the two halves of the intake throat. Can you say pot metal casting mismatch? Sure. I knew you could.

Pot metal? That looks like quality chrome plated plastic.

These things just HAVE to work, the guy has a 99.5% POSITIVE feedback rating on 1,850 sales !!

You know, a fully tricked 50 CC Goped will beat a 650 Maxim off the line.
