    Hi,
Im a new member who has bought a Yamaha XJ400 4go. I live in UK, but if anyone has parts to help,me restore this bike, please get in touch.
I think the bike is quite rare as i dont think many exist in UK as this is a Japanese import.
I do know alot of XJ550 Seca parts will fit and i previously owned one when i lived in Canada many years ago.
Basically the bike is a rolling chassis in need of many parts, including a tank, panels, clocks. But the bike does run which is suprising considering it appears to have been abused

Interesting....... I saw your other post, now seeing this one........this one is not familiar to me. It does look like a 550 but with a smaller engine. The usual xj400 is a basically a small inline 4-cyl Maxim. This looks like a small version of the Seca, and is NOT the xs400rj Seca that we have here.

Let's see what Len says when he jumps in----ooh, LE--E-e-e-e--ennnn!!!!!!

    Yeh its defiantly an XJ400 SECA.like a XJ550 Seca.
Apparantly they were japanese home market only. but there is mention of some in Australia n South America. but i dont know if they were imported as i think US had the 550

That's a new one on me. Everyone knows a 400 Seca is a twin, right! Cool bike.

Yeh when i saw it advertised on a fb page as a 400, i asked the seller to clarify it wasnt the 550.
Normally with a bike that rough i would either sell it on as a running project or break it, but because i suspect it is a very rare bike in UK and possibily not many left in the world, i think its worth saving from the grave.
I dont think underneath the rust, dirt and broken parts is a valuable bike, but i think its collectable once its returned to its former glory :).
I know the hardest thing will be sourcing all the parts and keeping the restoration within a reasonble budget.

before the full restoration im sorting the dating certificate from yamaha so that i can correct its registration details and get rid of is Q plate.
