So I'm working on the money-pit (SECA), getting it road worthy to sell...just getting ready to put the hardbags on...got everything opened up, access to everything. I'm looking at that rear wheel...the devil on one should says "Just button it up, let the next owner take care of it". The angel on the other shoulder says..."WWFD!" What Would Fitz Do! CHECK THE REAR BRAKES, It'll only take a minute.
    Take a look:

This bike won't be perfect when I sell it...but at least it'll be safe.
Every time I look at this bike it costs me $50!

Had the same thing happen on one of my bikes a couple of years ago. The only way I realized it was the rear brakes were squealing very loud all of a sudden. Found both shoes had separation. I feel very fortunate they didn't break apart and lock the rear wheel when braking at speed. Would have been a real bad day for me.

I had an ATV in the shop that delaminated and locked up. It took a hydraulic press to pull the drum off.

You don't want it doing that on a moving motorcycle.
