The brake fluid warning indicator has been on since I bought the bike. I have torn down the brakes and will be rebuilding the calipers and MC as well as replacing the brake lines.

How can I tell if the brake fluid sensor is ok now that all the electrical connections are unplugged? Are there some specific wires or connections that will provide power and allow me to test the sensor without reconnecting the entire wire harness?

I did clean out some dirt and grit from the float and around the base of the sensor in the resevoir.

    Thanks

It is just a switch. A continuity check is all that's needed. You'll need to move the float by hand to check for proper operation, unless you plan on filling, and then draining the master cylinder.
