So. I was putting the rear brake lever back onto the wheel and was testing it. it was way out of adjustment on the first go. I was pushing the brake pedal waaay down forgetting all about the brake light switch and the spring broke. So now the brake light is always on. I figured I damaged the switch. BUT... I took the wires out of the switch its self and it's still on! So that really threw me off. Pretty sure the brake light is stuck on. Seems very bright. Engaging front brake switch makes no change in brake light. Does anyone have a clue what's going on here?
This forum and its members are fantastic by the way. Haven't been on here for a while in the case of my great running 82 xJ 550 maxim thanks to this forum. Thank you!

See if when you unhook one of the wires from the swx if the light goes off? If it does, then you have isolated the fault to that swx. I would guess you can spay some solvent on that little plunger of the swx and then use a pliers to move the plunger in and out. Finding or making another spring is easy enough for the lever to swx.

    Hope that helps you out.
