Changed my front pads recently. The old pads had the shims on the NON-piston side, but the haynes manual seemed to show them on the piston side so that is where I put them. They work fine and dont squeal, so no issues, but I was just curious of what is correct (and if I should go back and switch them!)

    Thanks!

Are you talking about the "half shim" that clips to the brake pads?

If so, yes, they go on the piston-side pads.
