So I have decided that a cafe is out of the question for my maxim. I was wondering if anyone on here has ever built a Brat bike from a xj maxim? I know I saw a forum of putting a rear wheel on the front but cant find it now. any other tips for what I will need for this. I will start to submit pics as I start the build but it will be slow going as I have to ride the bike while I am doing the build.

im a little confused, brat style is cafe's ugly cousin......

have you ever rode a maxim with two 16 inch wheels? i can imagine it would not be too much fun, i built an xj550 that was brat inspired (comfortable subdued luxury, very rideable) and kept the front 19" without compromising the look i was going for

I've got a brat/cafe build going right now, you can check it out if you want in this subforum. You can definitely pull the look off with the 19 inch front wheel. There is a guy still selling kits for the single disk conversion. If you can't find his name let me know and ill get it for you.

Price was between 150 and 200 if i remember right.

thanks Detroit that helps me to see I can pull off the look with the 19 in front. I say brat because I like the look of the cafe but the Maxim is just not a great platform to build one from. however I thing it is a great platform to build a Brat/ Rat bike.
