breather cap

    A friend of mine saw oil leaking out of my pumpkin, so he tried to take off the breather cap and the cap snapped off. how do i fix this?

    Do you mean the cap broke, or it broke the stem on the pumpkin?
    If it is just the cap, you can find a new one. If it is the pumpkin, the they are fairly easy to find on E-Bay..
    Maybe throw up a picture??

    the cap off the stem...it looks as though the cap is permanently sealed to the stem

    OK, so the breather cap (The one on top) should have a valve inside as it is designed to allow excess fluid out. I know the cap on my bike can be replaced, so I an guessing that yours should be as well.
    Added a link to this thread as it has an excellent picture of the rear drive housing, and it is from the same bike, so the originator may be able to give you a definitive answer.

    not to sound stupid or a noob but how do you replace it. never messed with a breather. does it screw on, does it snap on? when i looked at the cap, i didnt see any threads.

    also, would it hurt my bike if i rode it without the cap?

    No sure how that model would attach. As for riding without it, you will probably have a mess to clean up, so I wouldn't advise it.
    Any chance you could get a few close-up pictures?
