Lets get behind this movement. The only way the are going to bring it here is if we show enough interest. Even if you never going to buy this ride, support this movement, it needs to come to the U.S.

And if that doesn't get you off your duff and do something about this, maybe this will.

We can hope. Unfortunately Honda's experience with the CB1100 does not bode well for anyone bringing another big air-cooled standard to the U.S.. The SR400 still being in the U.S. lineup is promising though. It shows that there is a market for standards.

They can at least let it be an import option. Go down to Yamaha any town U.S.A. Pick your color, options etc. Hand over your dead presidents, wait for your bike to come over on the big boat. In the mean time move your wife's minivan to the drive way and set up a sanctuary in the garage for your new baby. Or even your bed room if you want to go that far, I am sure your wife wont mind sleeping in the garage. I want this bike in the U.S. I am tired of just looking at pictures, I want to touch her, ride her, feel her pulsate...... whoa, this not sounding the way I wanted, sorry.

I've sent them more than a few letters over the past five years.
Bringing a new vehicle into the U.S. takes a lot more than just putting it on a boat. They have to go through DOT, EPA, and CARB testing and certification. That is a big investment even for Yamaha.

Keep plugging away. Nobody even suspected that the SR400 would be reintroduced here, or that Honda would bring the CB1000.

Here in the states you can't even buy parts for one, much less build one from said parts. She looks great though.

But you could import some of the parts.
The engine is basically an FJ, which I rebuilt with a longer axle shaft and gear selector shaft from the XJR, that front end on mine is FJ with an XJR wheel, though I have an XJR set of forks as well.
Electrics are FJ, carbs FJ, top yoke XJ-6, headlight XS1100, exhaust system FJ.
You would only need to import a frame, tank, bodywork, wheels, seat, oil cooler.

2020. In that year the importation of a first year XJR1200 becomes easy.
