The very tip of my needle jet got broken and will this cause the carb to flood. I can only find new jet for like $70 and then found a whole carb rebuild kit with the jet for $30 on ebay. Does anyone know where to get just the jet for cheaper. I already check the local motorcycle savage yard. will this make the bike run any differnt
    Thanks

    Your description is not clear.

    Do you need:

    The mixture screw
    The slide needle
    The fuel inlet needle
    The fuel valve seat
    The idle jet
    The Main jet

Try to describe exactly what or where it is. May be one of us, or I, have extra parts.

the needle jet needle is the pin that goes up and down with the slide, the needle jet is the brass tube with holes in the side that pin goes into.
the float needle goes up and down with the floats and has or had a rubber tip,
if it's gone it will flood big time

Depending on how much is missing, the very tip only comes into play at high RPM & full throttle. If you mount it in an outboard carb, you could ride for now and replace it later.

If it's too short, it could come out of the jet "nozzle" and jam the slider open.

at the tip of that pin, it should have a bevel that comes to a sharp point. look at a good one and compare, if any of that bevel is still there, i'd use it.
not on the pin , right up close to the plastic cap should be those #'s. if it's a 650 or 750 they'll be y-11 or y-13, anything else, i dono nutin about

It will still have an effect on fuel flow and atomization in that carb. Whether you will be able to tell a difference in how the bike runs is hard to say. That would depend on the state of tune of everything else.

The needle is shaped the way it is for a reason. If your question is "do I need to fix this?" the answer is yes. If the question is "can I get by with it like this for a short time?" then the answer is maybe.

Needles are readily available and not expensive. Just fix it.

    NO.
    NEIN.
    NON.

Read about Chacal/ Len and keep track of positive vs. negative responses to his abilities in providing the correct part, in short time with the added bonus of true "customer service".

He has proven to be a trusted, reliable and quick resource - why would you want for anything else?

Just thought I would mention, I bought main needles from charcoal/Len today. He was extremely helpful, and very quick. Not only that, but I have been looking around online for main needles for over a week and I couldn't find any due to them being discontinued. However those parts websites still showed prices, and Len was cheaper than any of them.

That being said, I highly recommend buying from Len.

Now you guys are really confusing me. Err, I meant us. Umm, I mean, this reminds me of my favorite poem:

    Rose are red,
    Violets are blue.
    I am schizophrenic,
    And so am I.

    P.S. violets aren't really blue, they're violet...........
