I have a Hitachi carb with a broken float pin post. I have Devcon epoxy steel in my shop which should work ok to "glue" it back together and I am wondering if anyone has ever used this stuff to make a similar repair. It is stronger than JB weld but your opinion would be appreciated. Thanks, Jack

JB-Weld is the known cure - - all surfaces perfectly cleaned.
There is relatively little stress there.

I have fixed a bunch with jb weld a lot of people say it doesn't hold up to gas I have also fixed a lot of gas tank leaks with it . I believe if its mixed right and the surface is dry and clean it works fine. Had a petcock that leaked on my old kz that i sold to a friend. Its still on there been over 23 years now.

    Go to Ebay.

Buy a Set of "Parts Carbs" for short money.

    Swap the Bodies.

Keep the stuff that you'll get with the parts carbs.

Not sure how good JB-Weld is with ethanol, that’s some nasty stuff.

I don't subscribe to to the idea of using anything short of actually welding the broken post on permanently.

The best option is a used Carb Body swapped-out with the broken one.

There is a Company that specializes in repairing Broken Float Hinge Pillars.
They use a Laser Welding technique.

    Check-out their Web Site:

Used JB Weld for the exact issue, it's been holding fine for 3 years now.

Surface needs to be dry and clean, I let mine sit for 3 days before installing.

I wouldn’t use motorcyclecarbs.com they gave me bad service. Does not return phone calls or emails. They sent the wrong repair kit and would not exchange it. Bad news I am out $79.00

I took a look on the Devcon website; and wow. You might be fine with what you have, which Devcon product is it exactly?
