Anybody know how Cadillac makes their LED rear brake lights obnoxiously bright, even during the day? I know people generally say that LEDs aren't bright enough during the day, but Cadillac's sure are. Maybe I could buy a used Cadillac LED strip to adapt somehow...

I bought an led 1.8" cluster a while back but haven't had a chance to install it yet. If I do semi soon I'll let you know if it is bright enough...

they now make semi trailer tail lights with LED's, and man, those things will blind you if you're too close, there are square, rectangular, and circle shapes available, if you want i can give you the number for our local truck shop that has them

You may run into problems on a bike if you use LEDs for turn signals. Seems there is an impedance difference, the flasher won't cycle with some of them. I remember seeing this issue several times on other bike sites. There is a fix, but I don't recall what. Resistor, maybe?

Caddy OEM parts would be ungodly expensive. Not an option, my guess.

Truck stops do have a quite an assortment of other LED replacement bulbs and aux lights...especially if you can find one with a decent Chrome Shop....it'll blow your mind and give you ideas...

    Hell you live in Indiana!

I bet you can't throw a rock without hitting a truck stop. ;)

Joe, I've often thought the same thing. I'd love to have some of those caddy LED's on my bike. I'll have to check out the local truck stops and see what they have.

This company has a warehouse and store here...I always meant to go in there sometime and see what they have. Maybe you can find something to your liking...

Wow that is cheap and I'm considering other parts from them also. I could save on shipping. ;-)

It's weird that those flashers have a 5 year lifespan... not sure why. I do like they they flash for just 2 seconds, then turn into a normal brake light - not too obnoxious.

I was looking at superbrightleds.com and they seem to have reasonable prices and nice items.

@jeffcoslacker: I didn't want to make my turn signals out of these, but add some leds to the backside of some hard saddlebags that I just installed to use in conjunction with the brake light. So overall it would just add a little resistance to the resistance of the current bulb - hopefully not too much.
