Hi, been having a look at the brakes, and hit a few Problems with parts not being the same and was wondering which of these part were correct?

Bought Brembo Brake Pads (See Caliper Gallery)

After Removing Old Pads, they are similar but don't have central grove,
are these old stock or have i bought the wrong type or something?

Also Caliper Seals are different, and Rubber Boots are also not match.

It just get better and Better with this old Bike Yippee..!!!

Also was wondering which bike have Brake Parts interchangeability for XJ650,

ie XS, RD? as I am not having much luck finding Parts in the UK.

    Any help would be appreciated.

At this site you can find various part numbers xj650 brake

Once you have the parts number(s) you ca google for compatibiity - looks like quite a few of the bigger XSs share the pads..

    good luck

I wouldn't get too freaked out about the pads. If they fit they should work fine.
I think the groove is there for a spot for debris and dirt to flush out and/or a heat dissipation thing.
The seals and boots you have look like they are wrong because of the difference in diameters.
Like a100man said this site is an awesome way to get the parts you need.
I have NEVER had even the slightest problem with ordering parts.
Click the flashy icon at the top right corner of this page and find what you need, then order it up.

The groove serves as a quick visual indicator of pad wear. The lack of a groove is not an issue.

Thanks for your Input Guys, still a bit Green On the XJ Front,

Got the Parts Thing Sorted, I Think ?

    1980 XJ650 (UK) = 1982 XJ650RJ Seca.

So Part cross ref. should be a bit easier hopefully.

Yeah that's it. Seca defines the 'sports' model as compared to those beautiful Maxim 'cruisers' that we were so cruelly denied in Europe...
