Nice looking bike. HATE the exhaust though. I've always wanted a Vmax. Maybe by the time these come out, I'll be in the position to get one.

I can't tell from the pic what that thing is right behind where the front wheel slings crap ...

    Funny place to put anything!

That would be the oil cooler Rick, and yes, definitely too low.

Which leads to the question......why does it need an oil cooler if it is already water cooled?

Whether it's the oil cooler or coolant radiator ... I don't want it where they put it.

Agreed. But looking closely it looks like both are there. The lower one being the oil cooler.

That looks like the geologist's special edition V-max......I'm pretty sure that is an automatic rock collector for picking up samples as you travel. What will they think of next?!

Oh, you didn't read the fine print.

That part is not covered by the warranty because it was a real stupid place to put it. So, we took it off the list of things we'd have fixed for free until the warranty period expired just a moment before you came-in.

You can only get them from us and the bike won't run without it.

No problem, though, we have zillions of replacement ones ready to go.

And, instead of charging you the whole retail price of a new one for eight- hundred seventy-nine ninety-five ... just give us eight-seventy-nine even.

    How many would you like?

Rick is right , that is a completely stupid place for that rad, that cant be anymore than 4-6 inches of the ground. Cant really tell from the pic but it doesnt look like there is a whole lot of clearance between the front tire and that rad?

and i wonder how comfortable that seat is??? The article that came with the pick didnt really go into details but it makes me wonder if this is a prototype of some kind because there are some features that are not practical and there`s no way they can keep.

nice bike though am sure when they put it into production it wont exactly look like this

You have been duped. That is the prototype picture from the yamaha survey on the new Vmax. The survey can be found on any of the Yamaha sites here is the address.

    http://www.next-vmax.com/index2.html

I hope they make the next Max a more real world/ comfortable bike and a sports only over engined brute. Personally I would prefer styling more like the current Vmax with better handling and more range.

I can't stand that style of headlight, and of course that cooler is stupid, I tried to fill out their comment section, which is retarded, there wasn't any comment section, and when it asked me what I didn't like, they didn't include the headlight or the cooler as an option.

probably because they know they are retarded looking so they dont need a 1000 people telling them something they allready know.

had the same problem with there comment section.

I like it alot! Its obviously still going to have that muscular look to it, which is as it should be. I'll bet $$ that that ultra low oil cooler will be half the length of the one shown in that pic. At first they were sayin 2007, but they now moved it to 2008 for its debut. I put my two cents in earlier this year on that http://www.next-vmax.com/index2.html web site. I had no problem leaving comments. I've always wanted a v-max, especially an 85', but have always thought to myself, that if yamaha redesigns a new one, and it still represents what a V-max should be, then I will buy one when it comes. This new one should be as legendary as the first! Ive heard rumors of 150 to above 200 rear wheel horsies for this thing! That would be Awesome! But all in all, I think I would rather see Yamaha take some design tips from Lazereths V-max pro bike shown here; http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/p ... MAXPRO.jpg
Now that too is a bitchin iteration of what the next V-max should look like.
