Ive tried getting it off a couple ways. I dont want to damage it, just replace the engine gaskets. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Are you removing the cylinder head ?
The cam gears have to be unbolted from the cams to get enough slack in the chain to remove the cams. Then the chain can be tied up with a wire to remove the head.
Thats the basic idea but you had better get a book and read/study the details. Its not something you want to do with out one.
